Stay Committed!

Hello Sisters,

I have been spending time thinking about a message that would be useful and profound.  I was waiting for a catchy phrase, or one-liner from a song to come to mind…no luck.  The only thing that kept repeating itself over and over again was the simple word- commitment ! I know!  I thought the same thing.  “Commitment…that’s it”! However, I began to ponder on the idea of commitment and I realized that its impact on our lives is far-reaching.

Let me ask you some questions.  What goals did you set for yourself in 2011?  What plans do you have for your relationships?  Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Are you on a diet?  As you answer each of those questions I want you to ask yourself this, “what am I doing everyday, everyday, EVERYDAY that helps me reach my goal?  You see the key to success in any area of your life is staying committed.

We all have bumps along the way. A glitch here and there.  However, the key to reaching the mountaintop, our desire, our goal is staying committed.  No one said commitment was easy, but it is necessary!  Could you imagine if President Barack Obama gave up every time the media, or an opponent said or did something he did not like?  He would not be called president.  He never gave up…he stayed committed.  Committed to his goal of change.  Everyday he went out and spoke, and shook hands, and wrote emails, and kissed babies…he was committed to his campaign.

My sisters this week I charge all of you to be committed to being the best you!  The best wife and mother, sister, aunt, niece, granddaughter, mentor, teacher, banker, psychologist, entrepreneur, size 6, size 16…be committed to what YOU WANT TO BE!!!  It is a daily process and you must commit to the process everyday.  Some days will be easier than others, but don’t ever stop striving for your goal.  Go register for that class and then go to the class until you finish.  Go to the gym and commit to being healthy.  Go for that promotion and don’t stop until you get it or something better!!

You can do and be anything, yes anything, you commit to doing or being! Yes you can!!!

Now that’s encouraging!
